Muhammad Ali was born on 17 January 1942, Louisville in Kentucky his birth name was Marcellus Clay Jr. By profession he was an American boxer, activist, and philanthropist who was regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time. In 1975, he converted to Islam after joining the Nation of Islam, and kept his new name  “Mohammad Ali”. Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1980 so he retired from boxing in 1981. He was truly a legend who inspired young generations around the world. His outspoken and courageous advocacy for social issues for justice made him a public figure even outside the boxing ring.
